Forum 2011

Slides and presentations from Forum 2011

Dear Colleague,

I have great pleasure in endorsing the 12th National Business Leaders Forum on Sustainable Development (NBLF), being held on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 June 2011 at Parliament House, Canberra, Australia.

Now more than ever we need a business led approach to solving the sustainability issues that face our nation, our region and the world. Business has the capability, the resources and the creativity to deliver new and innovative technologies and solutions that can deliver meaningful change.

The theme of this year's Forum is entitled, 'Business Leadership in the new Global Economy: the race is on'. I commend the leadership of the Forum for addressing this subject matter at a time when Australia as a nation is discussing its response to climate change. This year's Forum will prove to be an opportune focal point for putting forward the voice of business at this critical moment in our nation's history.

NBLF has a strong history of bringing business leaders together to focus on issues related to sustainability and has resulted in positive action and change among the corporate, government and NGO sectors in Australia.

I am delighted to support this year's National Business Leaders Forum on Sustainable Development and welcome the important role it plays in driving the sustainable business agenda. As Chairman of Business for Millennium Development, I am especially encouraged to see the Forum assessing sustainability in the broader context of regional development and prosperity.

I trust that you will be able to attend and participate in this exciting Forum as we seek to identify market led responses to these pressing challenges.

Yours Sincerely,

Simon McKeon,
Chairman, Business for Millennium Development
2011 Australian of the Year
